AdvenTOUR 2016 was one for the books...

In September, we embarked on an adventure/tour (an Adventour, if you will). We ate, drank, celebrated, and explored our way across over 2,300 miles from Canada to Asheville. Thank you to all who helped make this an Adventour of a lifetime. It was the first, but it will definitely not be the last <3

Lookin’ like death. Feelin’ like LIFE. I know, I know, I know... some people run 12 miles like it’s a Sunday stroll through the park on a regular basis. But up until just a few months ago, I never considered myself a “runner” (what does that even mean anyway?), and I could (would) only run a mile or so at a time. Turns out, I just wasn’t giving myself the opportunity to run further. Turns out, you don’t have to listen to music when you run, and books on tape are life-changing. Turns out, I feel less anxious and calm and at peace when I run. Turns out, running can be a form of meditation (you don’t have to sit on a pillow in silence, if that’s not your thing). Turns out, my body can do so much more than I ever thought it could. Wow. I sure have learned a lot. And I just ran 12 miles. May this be your daily dose of encouragement to get out there and do something you never thought you could do! ❤️
This Saturday, I’m playing a house show with my friend, @johnshakespearmusic, for his single release. It’s FREE and early, so you’ll still have time to hit up all the cLuBz afterward. Plus, house shows are my favorite, so I hope you’ll join us! BYOB.

Took down the white awning yesterday (amongst many other little things) with the help of @bignastykingbub, his wonderful parents, and the neighborhood cat. Tonight, I caught Mom meditating #betweentwosconces ❤️
Ever since first watching Home Alone 3 as a little girl, I’ve had dreams of one day living in a Tudor style house of my own. I’m not entirely sure how this gem emerged, but as of 4pm today, she is ours. We have what will likely be many months of renovations ahead of us, but I am BEYOND ready to unleash my inner Joanna Gaines (minus the #shiplap) and turn this little lady into the place that we will call home for many years to come. ❤️#bobbygotmeasledgehammerforchristmas
In 2018, I had a chance to shred the gnar with 18 of my closest friends in one of my favorite places on earth. I helped my mom move out of our family home of the last 16 years and scored almost $200 worth at a Coinstar in pennies my dad had squirreled away since childhood. I marched alongside more than 2 million others in the tireless effort to end gun violence. I geeked out over my first sync placement, frolicked around the City of Angels with the cutest nephew (and then again for my cutest cousin’s Bat Mitzvah), and realized what a RUSH it is to mow the lawn. I found the acoustic guitar of my dreams, received copious amounts of Google alerts for the ROYAL wedding, attempted to swing dance with Bobby and quickly realized we should probably just not, and camped on the perfect island in the middle of perfect Lake George. I dealt with some (almost crippling) anxiety and realized it’s okay to not be okay all of the time and then spent an entire week sharing music and healing my soul at the Swannanoa Gathering. I grew stronger and stronger with more aerial silks classes and enjoyed the bounty of cherry tomatoes from my tiny garden. I was reminded (with a heavy blow) how important it is to slow down in life when I was literally hit by a car downtown Nashville at rush hour. I’m okay, but please learn from my mistakes. I travelled to the greatest city in the world with one of my favorite gal pals and snagged inexpensive tickets to a Broadway show. I shed several tears from the beauty of it all. I ran the longest distance I ever have in my entire life. I travelled to San Francisco and stood in the breathtaking shadow of a redwood for the first time thanks to my wonderful day job and drank wine with one of my bests thousands of miles from our homes (because the universe aligns like that sometimes). I recorded and released a new single with some of my favorite people. I couldn’t be more proud, and I couldn’t be more grateful. (...final bits in the comments...)
